Open Health provides HIV/STD testing at the HAART Clinic.

Join us for a panel discussion as we recognize National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Wednesday, March 16th via FB live 7 pm CST

WHY SHOULD I GET TESTED?

Open Health’s HAART Clinic offers HIV/STD testing to the whole community with no appointment required. Our HIV/STD testers, certified by the State of Louisiana, will meet with you in the comfort of a private counseling room.

The HIV test is easy-to-use, and only takes 20 minutes to receive your results. Our testers will collect a small amount of blood through a finger prick and will test for antibodies and antigen (part of the virus itself). These tests can find recent infections earlier than tests that detect only antibodies, finding HIV as soon as 3 weeks after exposure to the virus.

  • No appointment required

  • Testing hours are:
    8:00am-4:00pm
    Monday-Friday

  • Testing office address:
    3849 North Blvd.,
    Baton Rouge, LA 70806

GET TESTED, KNOW YOUR STATUS.

People living with HIV may appear and feel healthy for several years. However, even if they feel healthy, HIV is still affecting their bodies. All people with HIV should be seen on a regular basis by a health care provider experienced with treating HIV infection. Many people living with HIV, including those who feel healthy, can benefit greatly from current medications used to treat HIV. These medications, known as antiretroviral therapy, can limit or slow down the destruction of the immune system, improve the health of people living with HIV, and will reduce their ability to transmit HIV. Open Health’s HAART Clinic provides support services to people living with HIV. Our clinic can help people cope with their diagnosis, reduce risk behavior, and find needed services.

SHOULD I GET TESTED FOR STDs?

Did you know that most STDs have no symptoms? If you are sexually active getting tested for STDs is the most important thing you can do to protect your health.
